Alleged Biker Gang Leader Arrested in Deltona Drug Raid
An alleged chapter leader of a motorcycle gang was arrested in a Deltona drug raid, the Volusia Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday. 42-year-old Jose Vega is said to be a chapter president of the Mongols biker gang. The search warrant was served at a residence on Ferendina Drive where the VSO says they received reports of drug sales. The search reportedly discovered cocaine, marijuana, six firearms, cash, and apparel connected to the Mongols gang. Some of the cocaine was said to have been thrown into a toilet. Three total arrests were made at the home. One of them was Vega, who's been charged with five counts of possession of a weapon by an out-of-state felon and one count each of possession of cocaine with intent to sell and drug paraphernalia possession. Vega was booked into the Volusia County Jail on Friday, September 4. Two days later, he posted his $151,000 bond and was released from custody.
