Craig B. Uppercue Named Flagler Auditorium Director

The Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center has a new leader. Craig B. Uppercue has been appointed director of the venue by Flagler Schools, the district announced on Monday. He'll take over for Amelia Fulmer, who's retiring at the end of July. Uppercue's appointment is effective as of July 8. Commonly referred to as the Flagler Auditorium, the Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center is located adjacent to Flagler Palm Coast High School on SR-100 in Palm Coast. Annually it hosts a series of musical and artistic performances on a stage larger than any other in Flagler County. "I am honored to join Flagler Schools and lead the Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center," Uppercue said. "I look forward to building on Amelia Fulmer's legacy while continuing to strengthen arts education and community partnerships throughout Flagler County. I'm truly excited to be able to have the opportunity to support the students, faculty and staff of Flagler Schools." Prior to heading up the Flagler Auditorium, Uppercue has spent six years as a fine arts specialist for Volusia County Schools and almost eight years as an adjunct professor for Stetson University. Uppercue also has experience as a music teacher for Seminole County Public Schools and as the artistic director of the Athens Theatre in DeLand. Uppercue holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Stetson University, a Master of Education from Grand Canyon University, and is completing his Doctor of Education from Liberty University. Along with being appointed the Director of the Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center, Uppercue will use his educational expertise as the Director of K-12 Visual & Performing Arts for Flagler Schools.
