Daytona Murder Suspect Found Dead in Brevard County
A man accused of committing a fatal shooting on Monday was found dead in a Brevard County car accident, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. 54-year-old Robert Reyes Jr. was named as the deceased suspect. The incident began on Monday at around 6:00 p.m. when Daytona Beach police officers were called to a residence on Reena Drive. Upon arrival, officers found one adult woman dead inside. Reyes was determined to be the suspect, and the DBPD says he left the scene before officers arrived. Immediately the DBPD informed law enforcement agencies in nearby jurisdictions that Reyes was at large. His description and that of his vehicle were provided. The exact timing was not made clear, but Reyes was located in Brevard County in a single-vehicle collision. He was said to be dead at the scene of the crash. As of Tuesday, little other information has been made available by the Daytona Beach Police Department. The investigation was still active and ongoing as of the agency's statement late Monday evening. Members of the public were asked to avoid the area of the shooting while the scene is investigated.
