Daytona Police Investigating Cedar Street Stabbing

The Daytona Beach Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred on Tuesday, the agency announced. The incident occurred at the 900 block of Cedar Street. One victim was injured and a suspect is in custody. According to a Tuesday announcement, Daytona Beach police officers were flagged down and told about a person who'd been stabbed. Upon arrival, offivers found the victim as well as the suspect: 21-year-old Daytona Beach resident Rosemary Mercado Torres. The DBPD says Torres and the victim were in a relationship. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is said to be in stable condition as of Tuesday. According to the announcement, there is no ongoing threat to the community.
