Renovations Coming to Daytona's Silver Beach Access Ramp
The beach access ramp at Silver Beach Avenue in Daytona Beach will be receiving a major renovation in the coming months. The ramp will be closed to pedestrians beginning later this month while work is completed. Several components of the access ramp will be rebuilt or enhanced, as detailed by the Volusia County government. The concrete ramp itself will be reconstructed, the structure of the ramp will be reinforced, and several lighting and electrical systems will be brought up to date. Family restrooms will be added further from the ramp's bottom to prevent damage from severe storms. Additionally, the county says crews will complete landscaping work, add new sidewalks and curbs, and implement "finishing touches that will improve the facility's appearance and functionality". Residents have until October 19, 2026 to use the Silver Beach Avenue access ramp before it's closed for renovations. The ramp is expected to remain closed until some time in early 2027, the country says. Once work is completed, the county says the result will reflect an "investment in maintaining and improving its beach access facilities for the beachgoers who enjoy Volusia County's coastline each year".
