Winnebago Fire in Bunnell Kills 1 Person
One person has been confirmed dead in an RV fire in Bunnell in the evening between Tuesday and Wednesday. The Bunnell Police Department announced the incident through their official channels Wednesday afternoon. According to the BPD, the Winnebago RV in question was located on Lake Drive, located just off of SR-100 not far from the Bunnell Water Tower. Personnel from the BPD and Flagler County Fire Rescue responded to find the RV 'engulfed in flames'. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, police say, before responders could look inside for victims. One person was found deceased inside the RV. They have not been identified as of Thursday morning, reportedly 'due to the condition of the remains'. The Florida State Fire Marshal's Office and Medical Examiner's Office have both responded and are involved with the investigation. As of Thursday, the investigation remains active and ongoing. Little other information has been publicly released. It's unclear as of now if the incident is being investigated as potential arson, or whether criminal charges may arise. Those with information that could help in the investigation are asked to contact the Bunnell Police Department at (386) 600-7954.
